dc.description.abstract | A Segurança do Paciente (SP) visa prevenir danos e erros na assistência à saúde, incluindo eventos adversos. | pt_BR |

dc.description.abstract2 | Patient Safety (SP) aims to prevent harm and errors in healthcare, including adverse events. The National Patient Safety Program (PNSP) promotes the adoption of protocols during surgical procedures. Given the challenge represented by cataracts, the implementation of a specific checklist for cataract surgeries in joint efforts is essential to ensure the safety of patients and staff, especially in complex environments such as the Surgical Center (SC). This study aimed to describe the main recommendations found in the literature for the development of a checklist aimed at joint efforts in ophthalmological surgeries. An integrative review of the literature was carried out, carried out in the Embase, Scopus and Web of Science databases, from 2019 to 2024, using the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) and Medical Subject Heading (MeSH), in English, which were combined by the Boolean operators AND and OR. The inclusion criteria were primary studies available in full. Letters, gray literature and other types of publications that were not characterized as scientific articles were excluded. The search resulted in 914 studies, after removing duplicates, reading titles, abstracts and checking the inclusion criteria, 6 articles were included. Specifically for cataract extraction surgery, recommendations were highlighted such as prohibiting the reuse of the viscoelastic solution, the need to wash and sterilize the phacoemulsification pen, in addition to maximizing the use of disposable materials and emphasizing that all ophthalmological procedures must be performed exclusively by doctors specialized in the area. Therefore, the study brought together and described the recommendations present in the literature, highlighting the importance of specific perioperative care, based on updated and clear scientific evidence, to ensure patient safety and effectiveness in providing quality care through the construction of a future checklist aimed at ophthalmological surgeries in joint efforts. | pt_BR |
